Advair Diskus is a popularly used controller prescribed for treating asthma in children and adults, and is also used by adults for treating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease [COPD] that includes chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema.
It is usually combined with another medicine for those who suffer from asthma.
The medicine comes in a powder formulation comprising of Fluticasone, a synthetic steroid with strong anti-inflammatory properties, and Salmeterol, a long-acting beta2-agonist that makes breathing easier for asthmatics and those having COPD by helping the airway muscles to relax.
