RIFAMPIN (Rifampicin) is an antibiotic and is used for the prevention or treatment of tuberculosis infections. It is never used alone, but in combination with at least one other agent that treats tuberculosis. Rifampin (Rifadin) also treats other infections, including carriers of meningitis and for this purpose it is given alone.
