Studies have shown that older adults with dementia who take antipsychotics such as olanzapine have an increased chance of death during treatment and may also have a greater chance of having a stroke or mini-stroke during treatment with this medication.
If you experience :
slow or difficult speech
sudden dizziness or feeling faint
weakness or numbness of an arm or leg, call your doctor immediately.
Patients starting on a therapy with this combination of Olanzapine and Fluoxetine should be monitored appropriately and observed closely for new and/or worsening depression symptoms such as suicidal thoughts or behavior, or unusual changes in behavior.

Consult your health care professional who prescribes this medication for you, a family member, or someone you care for has dementia and is taking olanzapine, before you start on a course with this medication.
